Claudia Wharton

Claudia found yoga asana in her early teens, and for many years it was an occasional recreational activity. However, that changed when she found yin yoga after college. She loved the yin practice of finding ease in discomfort and gently dancing with my limits. Soon after finding yin she completed a 100 hour training in Yin Yoga at Be Here Now yoga in DC to deepen her practice, and was introduced to the other limbs of yoga beyond asana.

Claudia realized, however, that her practice was imbalanced - she had a lot of yin elements, but was missing the powerful yang elements of other styles of asana. She started to explore hatha yoga, heated Vinyasa and practices of meditation and pranayama. When she came to Ananda Ashram in the fall of 2021, she felt ready to embark on an immersive training and completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Claudia is loving her exploration of the 8 limbs of yoga and practices of asana. She is excited to share that journey with others at Ananda!
