Tammy Quinn (Vimala) began her practice of Yoga in 2008 and quickly realized that Yoga was more than physical exercise. Her love for Yoga led her to take the 200 hour “Life of a Yogi” teacher training with Sri Dharma Mittra in 2011, giving her a solid foundation. She is a certified Dharma Yoga Instructor in her 10th year of teaching.. Dharma Yoga is a graceful yet challenging practice based on Sri Dharma Mittra’s 50 years of classical yoga teachings. Tammy found Ananda Ashram in 2013 in an effort to continue her studies of Asana, Yoga-Vedanta Philosophy and Meditation. She was given the name Vimala in 2017 by one of the Ashram’s founding members, the late Joan Suval. She is currently pursuing a 300 hour Yoga Certification. Her classes incorporate harmonium chanting, asana (poses), pranayama (breathing techniques), dharana (concentration) and the basic fundamentals of Yoga.
